These terms govern your use of BetterMoved, a service operated by Bettermoved, LLC ("BetterMoved", "we", "us"). By using the site or submitting a request for quotes, you agree to them.

1. What BetterMoved does

We operate an online service that collects details of your move and introduces you to moving and related service providers who cover your area. Providers may contact you by phone, email or text using the details you give us.

Using BetterMoved as a consumer is free. We are not paid by you, and quotes you receive are provided by the providers themselves.

2. We are an introduction service, not a party to your job

Providers on BetterMoved are independent businesses. They are not our employees, agents, partners or subcontractors, and we do not control them. We do not:

• perform, supervise, schedule or inspect any work;
• set, negotiate or guarantee any price a provider quotes you;
• guarantee that a provider will contact you, quote you, be available on your date, or complete work to any standard;
• hold funds, process payments between you and a provider, or act as an escrow.

Your agreement for any work, including price, insurance, cancellation and liability for loss or damage, is directly between you and the provider. Read what they give you before you sign it.

3. What "Verified Partner" means

Some providers display a Verified Partner badge. This means we invited that business to the platform and they claimed their listing. It is not a certification, licence check, insurance check, background check, or endorsement, and it is not a statement that the business is suitable for your job.

You are responsible for your own checks before hiring anyone. For interstate moves in the United States, you can look up a mover's registration and complaint history through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration at Protect Your Move.

4. Your responsibilities

• Give accurate information about your move. Quotes are based on what you tell us, and inaccurate details produce inaccurate prices.
• Only submit contact details you are entitled to give us. Do not submit somebody else's details without their permission.
• You must be at least 18 years old to submit a request.
• Do not misuse the service: no scraping, automated submissions, false enquiries, interference with the site, or attempts to gain unauthorised access.

5. Terms for providers

If you use BetterMoved as a service provider, you additionally agree that:

• you are a legitimate business, hold the licences, registrations and insurance your jurisdiction requires for the services you offer, and will keep them current;
• the information in your listing (services, coverage areas, business name and contact details) is accurate and kept up to date;
• customer details we pass to you may be used only to respond to that specific enquiry. You must not add them to marketing lists, sell or share them, or contact them for anything else, and you must comply with applicable telemarketing, anti-spam and data protection law;
• you will respond to enquiries promptly and deal with customers honestly;
• we may suspend or remove your listing at any time, including for complaints, inaccurate information, or misuse of customer details.

Where a paid plan applies, the plan's fees, billing period and cancellation terms are those shown at the time you subscribe. Free or complimentary access may be withdrawn at any time.

6. Content on the site

Our guides, cost figures and city information are general information, published in good faith from the sources cited. They are not professional, legal or financial advice, prices vary by market and change over time, and you should not rely on them in place of a written quote for your own move.

The site, its content and its branding belong to us or our licensors. You may read and share it, but you may not copy, republish or scrape it for a competing service.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any provider introduced to you will meet your needs.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, delay, injury, cost or dispute arising out of the acts or omissions of a provider, including damaged or lost belongings, overcharging, non-arrival or poor workmanship. Those are matters between you and that provider.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars ($100).

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or, if you are a provider, from the services you perform for a customer introduced through BetterMoved.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access to anyone who breaches these terms or misuses the service.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms. Where a change is material and you hold an account, we will ask you to accept it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of that state have exclusive jurisdiction. BetterMoved is intended for use in the United States.
